An Aylesbury school’s head of sixth form raised £900 for Stoke Mandeville Hospital’s Cancer Care and Haematology Unit by running the Bupa London 10k road race.

Pebble Brook headteacher Jackie Robson ran the race in one hour and six minutes with her friend Pauline Johnstone in memory of her brother, Martin Hill, who died from cancer last year.

She said: “I was quite chuffed with that time.

“When he died my sister in-law asked for money to be donated to the unit so this was in memory of my brother.”
