TWO students from Lord Williams’s School have scooped first and second prize in Bucks New University’s My Big Furniture Idea competition.

Oliver Picot and Katy Groves picked up the awards for the 14 to 15-year-old’s Key Stage 4 category.

The students were asked to design outdoor seating for their school.

Oliver’s design, which won first prize, was commended for its originality.

Katy was also commended for her design which was considered ‘amazing’ for a designer so young.

Beverley Reed, design and technology teacher at Lord Williams’s, said: “We are delighted that Ollie and Katy were placed first and second in the My Big Furniture idea competition.

“They are both very dedicated, talented and motivated students who benefited greatly from the experience.”
