Thame primary school pupils are to benefit from the crafty skills of a visiting apprentice.
Barley Hill Primary School pupils have helped design seating which will be put in the Early Years Foundation Studies area and takes inspiration from a caterpillar.
As part of National Apprentice Week, Tom Bishop from the Rycotewood Furniture Centre, will be cutting the green oak timber and begin construction. The final seating is due to be completed and installed in April.
Headteacher Anne Stopforth said: “This project has been a great opportunity for children to work with students from the Rycotewood Furniture Centre, providing the children with insight of all aspects from design to production with a real purpose in mind.”
Mr Bishop said: “It will be good to take the pupils’ design and translate it into the finished article.”
