Spooktacular rubbish from at waste sites across the county

A GLASS eye, false teeth, a coffin and even a tarantula in its cage are just some of the spooky things which have been found thrown out at some of Oxfordshire’s dumps after Halloween.

Chairman of Oxfordshire Waste Partnership councillor Lorraine Lindsay-Gale said: ““As well as these unusual items we’ve also been asked about a six foot stuffed bear that someone no longer wanted.

“People are keen to recycle as much as possible and we get asked what to do with all kinds of rubbish.

“We now recycle more than ever such as electrical items, energy saving light bulbs and batteries, but this always leads to people wanting to do more.”

““We normally get more everyday items on site but if people aren’t sure what to recycle they can check out our new Recycling A-Z at ww.oxfordshirewaste.gov.uk.”

The seven waste sites across Oxfordshire currently have a recycling rate of almost 60 per cent, one of the highest in the country.
