Aylesbury College student Kori Richards has appeared in films including Skyfall and Harry Potter and hopes to begin a year-long American Musical Theatre Academy course in September.
However, the 17 year old from Southcourt needs to raise £10,500 by the end of May if her dream is to become reality and she will be fundraising like mad to get there.
Kori, who has been keen to pursue a career in stage and screen acting since joining the Mandeville School in Year 7, said: “My tutor advised me to really push myself.
“So as well as applying to universities I thought I’d go all out and try AMTA too. I’m absolutely overwhelmed. It really is dream come true for me.
“I’ve been working hard for such a long time and now things have come together.”
Kori has also been accepted onto a Southbank acting course, but the American course is the one she has her heart set on.
The performing arts student would be working on her singing, dancing and acting skills on the course, spending much of the time in London but also flying to New York.
Aged just 14, Kori got a part as a student in the last Harry Potter film and since then has gone from strength to strength.
She said: “That was my first stepping stone. Since then I’ve started doing loads more work.”
Along the way she has met the likes of Daniel Craig and Skyfall director Sam Mendes and hopes to one day emulate her heroes Helena Bonham Carter, Judi Dench and Albert Finney.
In Skyfall she appears as a casino guest in one of the most memorable scenes from the movie.
She said: “Performing is my dream. Whether I get the funding or go to Soutbank, either way I believe I have the determination to succeed.”
Julie Gillespie, Kori’s college tutor, said: “Kori has been a fabulous student and we hope what she has learned on her course with us will stand her in good stead for her future career.”
