Care home residents are set to gain new skills thanks to a volunteering initiative designed to promote the social benefits of going online.

Volunteers from Marks & Spencer’s IT team will visit Abbeyfield homes in Princes Risborough next Tuesday to help residents get to grips with online basics using iPads, iPhones and laptops.

Tasks will include researching old stories and searching for materials to relive favourite memories, for example great sporting moments. They will also be encouraged to reconnect with friends and family and to view images of memorable places from their past using Google Maps, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.
