A ‘domineering and manipulative’ rapist who forced himself on three women has been jailed for ten years.

Craig Hughes, who lived in Fuggle Drive, Aylesbury, pleaded not guilty to the offences but was convicted by a jury.

The 27 year old heard his fate via video link from HMP Woodhill where he is currently serving a 25 month sentence for affray.

Amersham Law Court heard how controling Hughes committed two of the offences on women he gave lifts to in his car.

In one of the assaults he forced his 16-year-old’s victim’s hand onto his crotch and made her watch as he pleasured himself.

In another assault he parked his car close to remote garages, and locked the doors, before forcing his victim to perform oral sex on him.

After the attack Hughes pleasured himself, telling the victim that she could not leave the car until he had finished.

Hughes was also found guilty of an attack at another victim’s home, where he touched her inappropriately and knocked her onto a sofa, before lying on top of her in a sexual way.

The court that despite his crimes his partner has chosen to stand by him.

Judge Karen Holt also expressed her dismay that
Hughes remains in denial about his crimes, and will not accept any form of treatment in jail.

In delivering the ten year sentence, she said: “Having seen (one of the rape victim’s) evidence it is quite clear to me how it has been extremely upsetting for her.”

She added: “I have no doubt that Mr Hughes is an extremely domineering man and quite used to manipulating people.”

Hughes, who was found guilty of one count of rape and four counts of sexual assault, must sign the Sex Offenders Register until further notice.

He must also pay a £120 victim surcharge.
