Tetsworth Primary School pupils acted out a scene to highlights trip hazards of bags and coats at school and finished runners-up.

They entered it into a peg versus locker competition, run by storage firm Link 51, judges were so impressed that they handed out a second-place prize.

The £500 will be used to install lockers before the start of the new school year in September.

Teacher Vivienne Hall, who headed up the school’s entry, said: “We decided to enter the competition in a bid to reduce cloakroom clutter so that we can create a more organized learning environment for our pupils.

“We had been looking at persuasive writing so this was a great opportunity to involve the pupils in real-life persuasive language.”

Andy Millward, sales director for Link 51, said: “The entry from Tetsworth Primary School was fantastic and we couldn’t resist adding the bonus runner up prize.”
