A PAIR of rugby dads are ditching their normal holiday routine and cycling to their destination in Wales.

Both Richard Wingfield and Hywell Evans have sons who play at Chinnor Rugby Club and have joined together to take up the challenge.

It will see them cycling the 220 miles to their holiday homes in Tenby, where they will meet other members of the rugby team.

Richard said: “It will be fantastic, we are really looking forward to the physical challenge.

“Hywell has never cycled more than 50 miles before so it will be a real test for him.”

The pair thought it would be the ideal year to do the challenge as their sons are just about to make the step up into senior level.

Richard said: “We have been a couple of rugby dads for nearly 10 years now and our lads are coming to the end of their junior days.

“We decided we got away lightly with injuries so we thought we would raise money for injured rugby players and help them back to fitness.

“We are also raising it for Help the Heroes as a lot of people come back and can no longer play sport again.”

They will take to the roads at the end of July and will take two days to reach their destination in Wales – to sponsor visit www.justgiving.com/teams/tenbytrek2011
