One of the hottest young stars in the UK hip hop and grime scene is coming to the Waterside.
Rap artist Mic Righteous has more than 10 million YouTube hits, an ever growing online presence and consistent great reviews.
And he will perform at The Waterside Theatre on Saturday April 5, writes Heather Jan Brunt.
Show promoter Matt Bennett, who grew up in Buckinghamshire, said: “This show is a great opportunity for the teens of Bucks to experience one of the most exciting talents the music industry currently has to offer.”
Mic performs tirelessly all over England and in the last year alone he has supported US hip hop legends The Wu-Tang Clan and Eminem signings Slaughterhouse.
Last summer Mic also featured heavily on the festival circuit, performing at Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, NASS and Lounge On the Farm festivals.
Mic’s Open Mic EP reached number one in the iTunes hip-hop chart.
Both singles from the EP, ‘Ghost Town’ and ‘Up All Night’, were playlisted at BBC Radio1Xtra.
And they gained support from a host of BBC Radio One DJs including Zane Lowe.
Mic’s Aylesbury show will be an extended and intimate performance as he showcases music from his forthcoming album.
Support will come from Tring-based musician LNC who has featured heavily in the national rap battle circuit.
LNC has won numerous rap battle titles including JUMPOFF’s MC Championship, the most prestigious hip-hop event in the UK, held in central London, and which is how Professor Green was initially noticed.
LNC also performed at the Reading festival in the BBC1Xtra arena last summer.
Tickets for the Waterside show cost £10.
They are available from the box office, 0844 871 7607.
