After a two-year hiatus live music fans can’t wait for the return of Hobble on the Cobbles, Aylesbury’s own fantastic outdoor music festival on Sunday, August 25.
This year will see four stages featuring 20 bands pumping out music to keep the crowds happy in Kingsbury and the Market Square, from noon-8pm.
Resurrected in 2006, after a gap of 28 years, Hobble On The Cobbles played again annually until 2011 when the recession made it financially unviable, and then 2012 proved a bit busy with other distractions such as the Diamond Jubilee, the Olympics and Paralympics.
Now it’s back and as good as ever.
It is the brainchild of local entrepreneur and music promoter Stuart Robb, who runs events company Aylesbury Showcase, who said: “We have another fantastic line-up again with eight hours of music.
“We are also very proud and excited to announce that ’60s band The Searchers will headline this free event.”
Other bands confirmed to perform include Jump, Tin Spirits, Almost Midnight, Zealey & Moore, The Synthetix and Katie Buckhave.
Stuart said: “We’ve always tried to keep a local feel to the event featuring and supporting some of the best hardworking local musicians.
“Aylesbury has a strong musical history, so we hope the town will continue to support local live music and that everyone enjoys the festival.
“There’s something for everyone.”
