THE Mayor of Thame has spoken about the importance of honouring those who have died fighting for our country as Remembrance Day arrives.
Councillor David Bretherton, who is a former serviceman himself, said: “It means a lot to the people of Thame.
“I think that it is vital that we remember the sacrifice that those young boys and girls made for their country.”
Mr Bretherton, who was in the RAF for 22 years, said: “For me, as an ex-serviceman, it’s very poignant. It will be nice to see many people there and to be able to chat to them afterwards.”
