Religious silverware found by police

Silverware, which could have been stolen from a church or religious establishment in Thame, has been found by police.

At about 8am on Tuesday, July 26, PC Jonathan Shaw from Thame police station found a chalice and a wafer holder buried in some dirt and leaves behind a barn between Newington and Drayton St Leonard.

He said: “I believe these items were dumped months or maybe years ago as they were very dirty and needed cleaning before these pictures were taken.

“I would like to give these items back to the rightful owners but they will have to show some evidence to prove that it is theirs.”
