‘Seriously, eat like a caveman’
What do you wish they’d taught you at school, but didn’t?
I wish there had been more time for creativity for creativity’s sake.
Of all the places you’ve been in your life, which would you recommend to a stranger?
There are so many places I’d love to recommend but the top of my list would have to be New Zealand. I love the outdoors and the scenery is amazingly unique and varied, from turquoise glacial rivers to soaring jagged mountain ranges.
If you could pass one new law tomorrow, what would it be and why?
All theatres, cinemas and music events should assign the seats or standing areas by height with shortest at the front and tallest at the back, you know it makes sense.
You can invite three people - living or dead, round for dinner. Who are they and why?
Bruce Lee – very much the father of modern martial arts and in my opinion the greatest martial artist who ever lived. Richard Branson – he takes risks and has done some crazy things in his life that I’d love to hear about. Gary Taubes – An American journalist who spent five years researching the current obesity epidemic who has some really interesting and well researched findings which would surprise many people.
If you were stuck on Death Row, what would you pick for your final meal?
A massive fillet steak.
If you could write your own epitaph what would you pick?
We rarely regret that which we did, rather, we regret that which we did not. I did.
If you could have any super power, what would it be and why?
I would have the ability to manipulate time. There is never enough time to see and do everything you want.
How do you relax?
To relax I usually browse videos on YouTube (showing my age), watch movies or read a novel.
What was the last little treat you bought for yourself, or someone else?
A fillet steak.
If you had to give up something tomorrow, what would you find it hardest to live without?
Hardest thing to give up would be my fitness and good health. As long as I can walk and breathe then life is good.
What’s the most important lesson that life has taught you so far?
If something in your life is getting in the way of your core values, remove it. Surround yourself with things, experiences and people that influence your life positively and help you stay true to that which you value most.
Which person in the public eye would you most like to meet and why?
Will Smith because he has some really insightful views on success and happiness (no really, he does, YouTube it).
What do you go out of your way to avoid?
I go out of my way to avoid bread, pastries, pasta, rice and starchy potatoes because we are not genetically designed to eat them. I have never felt better since I removed them in favour of more fruit, vegetables and lean meat. Eat like a caveman, seriously.
Always leave them laughing
Venison’s dear isn’t it?
