HOSPITAL bosses have been urged to sort out chronic parking problems around Stoke Mandeville, after a petition with hundreds of signatures was presented.
Three Conservative ward councillors handed the petition to Graham Ellis, chairman of the Buckinghamshire NHS Trust, which is responsible for Stoke Mandeville Hospitals.
Councillors Sue Chapple, Brian Roberts and Brian Tyndall worked with residents from affected streets, and copies of the petition have also been handed in to Bucks County Council and Aylesbury MP David Lidington.
The trio discussed possible ideas to solve the problems, including encouraging staff to be more considerate, and publicising bus routes for patients from around the community.
Mr Ellis told the councillors that hospital managers would be trying to ease the problem, which has caused a major headache for householders, particularly in the Kynaston and Winterton Drive area.
A furious Winterton Drive resident said: “All the residents I have spoken with were extremely frustrated and fed up with the constant parking by hospital staff and in some case the aggression used when asked politely not to park outside their property.”
