Panto stars spread festive spirit at hospice raffle draw

A hospice’s annual Christmas raffle draw was given a touch of theatre when Peter Pan panto stars Captain Hook and Smee pitched up the make the draw.

Having danced and sung their way through several performances at the Waterside Theatre, Captain Hook (Steven Serlin) and Smee (Andy Collins) brought the fun and laughter to the Florence Nightingale Hospice, Stoke Mandeville Hospital, as they revealed the winner on Monday. A man from Wing was the lucky winner of £500 to kick start his festive season.

Sam Heggie, of the hospice, said: “It was absolutely fantastic.

“They are such wonderful guys, it really did make the day patient’s mornings.

“They chatted away to them.”

This year’s draw raised more than £6,000, which is the equivalent to funding in-patient nursing staff for six weeks.
