As the first Thursday of the month rolls around so does the music at a popular Thame club and this time it’s taking a soulful edge.
The First Thursday Music Club is all about giving musicians the opportunity to play live in front of a large appreciative audience and giving those watching a free night out and the chance to hear a whole host of different acts playing a very wide range of music.
Vocalist Tanya Brewster has popped up at the club at The Stables behind The James Figg frequently, including a storming set last month, but this time she will be taking the coveted 10pm feature slot with her band playing a set of funky and soulful tunes.
Joined by Kev Lucas on lead guitar, Chris Corfe on bass and Phil Heard on percussion the group will be providing The Vibe for the evening and incidentally that is the name they have given the band, too.
The club is Thame’s biggest monthly music event and people are free to sign up for a jam or to sing at the venue from 7.45pm.
Such meetings between people can create informal alliances and new bands.
Anyone is welcome to back up artists even if they have known each other for just a few minutes and the club said that sometimes the magic between artists just happens.
For more on the club visit its Facebook page at The First Thursday Music Club or www.firstthursdaymusicclub.com where you can find more information including contact numbers and addresses for the organisers.
