TIDDINGTON claimed the bragging rights for their county in the annual tug of war with Ickford, as their men’s team won in around eight minutes.

But Ickford did have something to cheer about as they took both the ladies and junior titles, before every competitor finished in the water at the end.

The traditional pull has been going on since 1953 and always ends with both teams joining each other in the River Thame after the competition is over.

The river represents the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border.
