The Genesis guitarist will be joined on the Waterside stage by 1980s teen idol Nik Kershaw, Marillion guitarist Steve Rothery, Asia frontman John Wetton, Level 42 multi-instrumentalist Jakko Jakszyk and singer/songwriter Amanda Lehmann.
This will be Hackett’s first Friars appearance since his 1978 solo appearance. He will be performing material from the time he was guitarist and writer for Genesis from 1971-1977.
Songs will be performed from Selling England by the Pound, Foxtrot, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering.
Friars promoter David Stopps said: “The Aylesbury area is real Genesis country. The first time we presented them at Friars was in 1970 when we paid them the princely sum of £10 to appear at the New Friarage Hall in Walton Street.
“Since then they played at Friars Aylesbury a further five times the latest of which was in 1980 when the queue for tickets lasted for three days.
“Steve Hackett was in the band for three of those shows including the famous show in June 1971 where Peter Gabriel leapt out in the audience and broke his ankle. It will be fantastic to have Steve back on stage at Friars especially with such legendary special guests as Steve Rothery, Nik Kershaw, John Wetton and Jakko.
