AYLESBURY Grammar School has submitted a planning application for a two-storey laboratory building on their site at Turnfurlong Road.

The school is well known for the quality of its science teaching with pupils taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology as separate subjects at GCSE and A-level.

As such, laboratory space is at a premium.

The new building will provide four new laboratories which, after renovation of the existing science building, will provide the school with five labs for each of Physics, Biology and Chemistry.

The new building, which will contain a disabled access lift, would be positioned against the wall of the sports hall, with a glazed walkway to link the first floor with the existing science building.

Trees and shrubs will be planted around the science block to improve the landscape.
