AN ANTI-HS2 campaigner is arranging 10 concerts to highlight the impact the line will have on music venues – to stress ‘it is not just the countryside being affected’.

Peter Bassano, of Great Missenden, is musical director of the Oxford University Sinfonietta and Wendover Choral Society.

He has arranged for The Oxford Sinfonia to perform at St Mary’s Church in Wendover on May 26.

Mr Bassano, who has held 20 concerts at the 300-seat venue in the past, believes the noise of the trains will make it impossible to hold concerts there in the future.

Another show will take place in Hampden House on March 31. He is due to announce a date soon for shows in Quainton and Hartwell House. Tickets for the Wendover show will go on sale shortly.
