THAME MP John Howell was guest of honour at an event drawing out plans to keep the town flourishing.
Thame businesswoman and chair of 21st Century Thame, Cat Young, addressed guests ahead of a guided tour around the town.
She described all the hard work which has been done over the last 18 months to introduce a range of initiatives promoting Thame, encouraging tourism, and attracting business.
The project has been funded by South Oxfordshire District Council and Thame Town Council, with the help of a grant from the South East England Development Agency.
Ms Young, who is a partner at Thame-based business STW, outlined some of the key achievements including the creation of material to inform and welcome visitors and newcomers and the successful loyalty card scheme to support the smaller traders.
She said: “Thame is a vibrant and thriving community.
“Those of us who work or live here already know what a great town it is, but to ensure it stays this way requires us to continually find ways to make it even more attractive to residents, businesses and visitors.”
