SAT around the Sasso dinner table is just shy of 150 years’ worth of martial arts experience – this is one Aylesbury family not to be messed with.
At the head of the table is 60-year-old Tony Sasso, an 8th Dan karate Black Belt and expert in Tai-Chi.
Tony has run a martial arts training centre in Aylesbury, Shotokan Karate and Internal Arts Association, for more than 30 years. He alone has 40 years experience in both Tai-Chi and Karate.
To Tony’s left sits his wife Jo, who he has trained for the past ten years since they met. She is now a 3rd Dan Black Belt.
“We train every lesson together,” said Tony.
“Jo and I do four hours Tai-Chi Qi-gong every Sunday morning. We normally do this training on our own but anybody who wants to learn true Tai-Chi Qi-gong is welcome to come along.”
From front to back to the right of the table sits Nathan, a 2nd Dan Black Belt, Amy, a 4th Dan Black Belt and Clair, a 3rd Dan Black Belt.
To the left of the table from front back is Natalie, a 4th Dan Black Belt and Luke, who is 1st Dan Black Belt.
“All the girls carried out either Karate or Tai-Chi training through their pregnancies,” added Tony.
“Between the family we have nearly 150 years training.
“I have trained hard but feel I am blessed to be able to and blessed to have such loyal and spirited students.”
