THE people of Thame are being encouraged to group together next weekend to tidy up the town.

A large number of community groups have already pledged to show their support, including Lord Williams’s School and the town’s air cadet, scout and brownie groups.

Mayor Adam Buckland said: “We just want to focus people’s mind on keeping the town clean.

“Even if people can only offer an hour of their time or clean their front garden it will help us out.”

The day is open to anybody who wants to take part, with Thame Town Council organising people into teams to clean up specific areas.

Places like footpaths, parks and the town centre are key areas which will be focused on but any area that can be cleaned will be appreciated by the council.

The day will end with a get-together at the Scout Hut in Southern Road where people can talk about their experiences while enjoying a coffee.

The clean-up will take place from 10am until 4pm on Sunday, March 27.

Anybody who can help should contact the Town Hall on 01844 212833.
