MARDI Gras masks are still being sold at Thame Town Hall in preparation for the town’s carnival next week.

Each mask will cost £3 and organisers are hoping the decorations will be a key factor in the party atmosphere.

The carnival parade will leave at 12pm. Walking entrants will start from John Hampden School and will need to be in place at 11.30am. The parade will pass through the town to music and a samba band and proceed to the Southern Road Recreation Ground where the fete will begin at 1pm.

The best carnival entrant will win a cup which will be engraved with the winner’s name and the year and will be returned at the end of December.

Entertainment includes bands, music, DJ dance tent, stilt walkers, climbing wall, classic cars, martial arts display, tug of war and a dog show.
