Man in court over double burglary from town houses

A man has appeared in court charged on two separate counts of burglary relating to incidents in Thame.

Gary Paine, 42, of no fixed address, appeared before Oxford and Southern Oxfordshire Magistrates Court via video link.

He has been remanded in custody until August 16 for committal.

Mr Paine is accused of committing two burglaries in Thame last weekend in which expensive items were stolen.

The first took place at around 2am on August 3 in North Street.

The accused is believed to have entered the house through a lounge window.

Property stolen included watches, a mobile phone and a camera.

The second burglary was on August 4 between midnight and 9am in Wellington Street.

The culprit is thought to have entered through a back door.

Laptop computers, an MP3 player, cash and debit cards were stolen.

Also taken from the Wellington Street home were a tent, camping equipment and a specialized ‘Springtail’ mountain bike in matt grey.
