Looking for the glitch in the Matrix.....

THAME Cyclones knew this would be a tough match and it did not disappoint! Matrix came out fast and furious in the first quarter, with strong passes and incredibly quick turnovers.

First quarter seemed to go in the blink of an eye with Matrix defending hard making it difficult for Thame to get ballside. By the end of the quarter Thame were beginning to get used to the style and speed with Thame starting to get space and 2 fantastic edge of the D pressure shots from Becky (GS) put Thame on the board End of first quarter 2-11 to Matrix Second quarter saw a few random umpire calls (or lack of) but Thame were getting their eye in more and fighting hard. Matrix continued to defend hard casing a few held balls with Thame finding it difficult to provide options. Very difficult to match speed of Matrix turnovers. Another couple of great shots from Thame under immense defensive pressure. End of second quarter 4-21 to Matrix Third quarter and Matrix made changes to their team which had an impact on their shooting and at the same time Thame began to match speed and turnovers. This quarter was great for Thame, with all members of the team getting ballside and getting space. Lynne (GS) running out each side of the D and working with Becky (GS) who was fighting for everything kept their defence on their toes. Thame’s speed of passing and turnover picked up massively. Matrix were obviously feeling the change as they were getting more ‘contacty’ against our mid court. Some excellent shots from the shooters as Thame and excellent 3 or 4 pass sequences to get down to Thame’s shooters showed Matrix we can do it too! End of third quarter 9-34 to Matrix Fourth quarter Matrix had to change their team again to deal with Thame. Again Thame were getting more space, especially Jodie (WA) and Sam (WD), and Thame were continuing to get more interceptions. And yet again some excellent pressure goals. Thame continued to fight hard right to the final bell and Matrix had to work hard for the win. The scoreline does not reflect the fight that Thame brought to Matrix!! Final score 13-50 to Matrix
