Top dogs given chance to get paws on pooch prize

Dogs lovers across Oxfordshire are being encouraged to nominate their furry friends for a prestigious pooch prize.

Dogs Trust, the UK’s largest dog welfare charity, will be hosting its sixth annual Dogs Trust Honours awards ceremony this summer.

People can nominate dogs in the hero dog, dogged devotion, pawfect company and dog’s best friend category.

The winning VIP’s - Very Important Pooches - will be chosen by a panel of celebrity dog-lovers and will be awarded in July.

You can nominate a dog by visiting www.dogstrusthonours.co.uk or by sending details and a photograph to awards@dogstrust.org.uk.

The closing date for nominations is May 3.
