Within 30 minutes of celebrating the New Year, a man found himself being robbed at home by three men wearing masks and carrying baseball bats.

The terrifying ordeal took place in Aylesbury High Street and the victim was left with head injuries which required hospital treatment.

The men attacked him before stealing his mobile phone and television.

While the robbery was taking place, the victim escaped through a window.

He was also left with both arm and leg injuries and a black eye.

The attack took place at 12.30am on New Year’s Day.

Police believe the three offenders are all white and spoke with broad Liverpool accents.

Investigating officer detective constable Natalie Golding described the incident as ‘a serious attack’.

She said: “We urge anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“Officers have been out in the area, offering reassurance to local residents and we want to assure people that incidents like this are extremely rare.”

Anyone with information can contact Thames Valley Police on 101. If you don’t want to speak directly to the police call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
