Seeing telly in a different light
The colour television revolution took hold many years ago but some people are still using black and white sets, including 40 in Oxfordshire.
A TV Licensing report has showed more than 13,000 black and white licenses are still used nationwide.
TV Licensing spokesman for London and the south east, Victoria Sykes, said: “It’s remarkable that with the digital switchover complete, 41 per cent of UK households owning HDTVs and Britons leading the world in accessing TV content over the internet more than 13,000 households still watch programmes on a black and white telly.”
It is thought the old licenses are used because they are a cheaper option.
