Plan for new county hall lift is scrapped
Bucks county hall
Plans for a new lift up the outside of county hall have been thrown out.
Bucks County Council leader Martin Tett said the idea had been discussed but that it would be too expensive and has been abandoned.
The lack of lifts in the building is causing problems with little space to put a new one inside.
A reorganisation will put staff who leave the building more often on the lower floors so they will need the lifts less.
