People to pay more for policing in Thames Valley
Thames Valley Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld
Police and Crime Commissioner Anthony Stansfeld, has had his proposed rise in the police portion of the council tax approved by the Police and Crime Panel.
Band D households will see an increase of less than 1p a day, or £3.08 per year to pay for the rise.
The increase will allow Thames Valley Police to recruit an extra nine officers and redeploy 34 other officers to key roles in local policing and child protection.
Mr Stansfeld said: “It allows us to keep our frontline secure.”
