Honest geek is ready to solve your IT issue

A self-confessed geek is hoping his honest salesmanship will bring him business in his new IT venture.

Former Lord Williams’s student Simon Peacock, 24, started up Chilterns Computing this month with a focus on repairing problems for a reasonable fee.

He said: “I’m trying to sell myself as local and trying to be very decent.

“Some friends of mine have had situations where somebody has come round to fix their email, taken their computer away and charged them £250.”

Mr Peacock uses the slogan ‘hire a geek’ for the company and said he has a fixed rate of £30 per hour.

However, due to the variety of issues that he encounters this rate is flexible.

He added: “I think there’s definitely a business for it here.

“People, particularly the elderly, are taken advantage of. There’s numerous companies doing it.

“I want to be known as a decent provider and hopefully grow into and all over the Chilterns and Oxfordshire.”
