Cigarette thought to be cause of fatal Thame house fire

The woman who died in a house fire in Thame has been named.
Christine Fullwood, 62, died after the blaze broke out in the living room of her Greenway home.
Police and fire services are continuing to investigate the tragic incident, but believe it was caused by a cigarette. The fire is not being treated as suspicious.
Mrs Fullwood, believed to be a mother of three, lived in the house with her husband David. It is thought two cats also died in the fire.
Firefighters were called to the house at 3.25pm on Wednesday after the fire started.
When they arrived the living room was ablaze and there was heavy smoke throughout the semi-detached house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly put out the fire and found Mrs Fullwood but were unable to save her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Residents along the street expressed their shock at what had happened.
One neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “There were fire engines everywhere along the road. I knew the people in the house remotely but just as neighbours.”
Another neighbour said: “I knew them as neighbours and saw them on a regular basis.
“I’ve not spoken to anyone from the family yet but it’s very sad to hear what’s happened.”
The fire took hold in the middle of the day, when many people were out at work.
One resident said: “My wife and I were out at work but our son was at home. He saw three fire engines but didn’t hear anything. The fire service wouldn’t say anything to us.”
