Putting on fancy wig and strutting your stuff is a big ask if you are not keen on dressing up.

But these Haddenham folk did just that to raise money for people with cancer.

The Haddenham Wig Walk was a heady success, and participants raised £3,600 for the Cancer Care and Haematology Unit and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The walk featured three, ten and twenty mile routes and staff at Princes Risborough Tesco met walkers to provide refreshments along the way.

Organiser Helen Lewis, said: “We had an amazing day with a massive turnout of people, the sunshine definitely helped.

“We lost track of how many people showed up for the three mile walk around the village of Carey, it was phenomenal.”

Later on, walkers and their supporters enjoyed tea at the Youth and Community Centre.

Helen added: “Tea at 3pm brought us even more people with the centre looking amazing with what can only be described as a Mad Hatter’s party. Our ladies did us proud.”
