Toploader will be the headline act at this year’s Hobble On The Cobbles.
The band, who had top ten hits with Dancing In The Moonlight and Achilles Heel will play in Aylesbury’s Market Square on August 24.
They have had two albums in the top ten of the UK charts, and four singles in the top 20.
Hailing from Eastbourne, the band formed in 1997, and now have over two million album sales to their name. Their debut album, Onka’s Big Moka, sold more than one million copies and remained in the top five of the UK Albums Chart for over six months.
Toploader’s come back single Turn It Around was released in 2013.
Also on the bill are upcoming London rockers Goldheart Assembly who are favourites on Radio One.
A host of local bands including Sinfiction, Callow Saints, Without Reason and Open Mind will also perform on the day.
While announcing the good news, organiser Stuart Robb revealed his decision to step back from the festival – and hand over its running to Aylesbury Town Council.
He said: “Hobble On The Cobbles has been great fun and I’m extremely proud of everything my team and I have achieved, over the past eight years or so in organising and essentially recreating this event from scratch.
“However due to a variety of existing business commitments, and of course the recent birth of my daughter, I have decided to take a step back from being so hands on with Hobble On The Cobbles this year.
“I will of course continue to be involved, and have already played a major part in securing some great bands, I just won’t be as involved as I have been in previous years.”
