The opening of two new major restaurants in Aylesbury is just weeks away, with Nando’s and Wagamama confirming when they will first welcome customers.
Japanese restaurant and noodle bar Wagamama is opening at the former home of The Slug And Lettuce by the Odeon cinema on February 12.
It will neighbour chicken eatery Nando’s, which is taking up part of the old La Tasca unit and will open on February 19.
A third unit has been created between Wagamama and Nando’s and, although nothing has been confirmed yet, it is strongly believed that Italian restaurant Zizzi’s will set up a branch there.
District council leader Neil Blake said: “That is a strong rumour going round that I have heard as well.”
Mr Blake said the new restaurants will provide a welcome boost to the town.
He said: “I think any addition to the variety of eating establishments that we have has got to be good for the town.
“Those three restaurants give some of that variety that’s needed.”
Meanwhile new tenants are being sought at the site of the Bandidos restaurant in Kingsbury after landlords Stan James repossessed the unit.
Ian Blackburn, a Stan James director, said Bandidos, which opened in 2011, had not been paying its rent.
