Thamensian TV star Nicholas Parsons has been honoured by The Queen for his charity work.
Mr Parsons, 90, accepted his CBE at Windsor Castle.
The award is in recognition of his work with children’s charities.
He said: “The Queen is so dignified and did it so beautifully.
“It’s a great thrill to be honoured and especially in such beautiful surroundings.”
He added: “I’ve had some reward from the work I do, and to put something back in through charity work is marvellous and I’m privileged.”
Nicholas Parsons is patron of The Thame Players, and showed his support for the group last year by helping to raise £1,500 in a fundraising drive.
He is most famous for his work on programmes such as radio panel show Just A Minute and has ever appeared in Doctor Who.
