Spring in full bloom as grass cutting begins

Bucks County Council will cut urban verges

Bucks County Council will cut urban verges

Grass cutting will begin taking place in both urban and rural areas.

The urban work, carried out by the County Council using rotary blade mowers, will take place on verges within 30mph and 40mph speed limit signs.

Rural work, on verges between village and town name signs, will be done by the council’s contract partner, Robert North.

Cut grass is not routinely collected but is cleared from footpaths using hand blowers where possible.

Cabinet member for transportation Ruth Vigor-Hedderly said: “We’re pleased to be able to provide the service ourselves, enabling us to make essential cost savings.”
