A talent show that was packed with singing, dancing, poetry, hip hop and songs from West End musicals to One Direction has taken place at the Players Theatre in Thame.

Students aged five to 16 from the Pauline Quirke Academy Oxford performed their Christmas show ‘The Next Top Star’ at the town theatre last weekend.

There was a large cinema screen as the backdrop to the show that was used throughout showing the acts backstage before they performed to the judges.

Dee Thompson, academy principal, said: “The audience clapped along to some Christmas classics and it was the perfect night out just before Christmas.

“It had a bit of everything.”

The academy runs every Saturday from 9.45am to 1pm at Wheatley Park School. All students have sessions in comedy, drama, musical theatre, film and television. For more information or a free taster day contact dee@pqacademy.com
