A make-up artist, hairstylist and photographer delved into Disney’s dark side to bring Sleeping Beauty’s nemesis to life.
Inspired by the recent release of Maleficent starring Angelina Jolie, which reveals the truth behind Disney’s most iconic villain, hair stylist Charlotte Wilkinson came up with the idea to re-create Maleficent’s striking, evil look.
Charlotte enlisted Lorna Shepherd, who has been professional make-up artist since 2010 and has now been working freelance for almost a year to help her.
She specialises in fashion/editorial and bridal make-up, but has a passion for experimenting with the weird and wonderful, seeking inspiration from a number of different mediums. To create the magnificient horns Charlotte used chicken wire, foam and false hair.
Lorna regularly works with photographer friend Kayleigh Victoria to create unique and extraordinary designs. And Kayleigh was all too happy to get involved with the project and take some striking snaps.
Since beginning her studies at Aylesbury College in 2010, Lorna’s career, and contacts book has been progressing nicely, and she was thrilled to work on this colaborative project.
She said: “We are all local living in Thame, and are loving that our talents are being recognised more and more. We are aiming for big things!”
