Jimmy Savile’s legacy of abuse at 28 hospitals has been revealed in a series of NHS reports released today – but details of his sex crimes at Stoke Mandeville are not included.

Despite all the other hospitals producing wide-ranging investigations into the DJ and TV personality’s dealings with their facility, a report into his activities at Stoke Mandeville Hospital will not be released until the autumn.

A spokesman for Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust, which is responsible for compiling the report, said: “Following the emergence of new information, the independent Speaking Out investigation into the activities of Jimmy Savile at Stoke Mandeville Hospital will not now be published before the summer as originally planned.

“Given the nature of the issues under investigation and the importance of hearing from all the witnesses the trust believes it is important that the final report is thorough, comprehensive and accurate.

“Accordingly it will now be published in the autumn of this year.”

Hospitals around the country, including Leeds General Infirmary and Broadmoor Psychiatric Hospital, investigated allegations of abuse by Savile before his death in 2011.

It is believed that the notorious paedophile and sex offender abused hundreds of people during his lifetime.

New evidence suggests that Savile gloated about his access to the morgue at Leeds General Infirmary, and told one witness that he made jewellery from a ‘friend’s’ glass eye.
