Students have the chance to show off their culinary skills at next month’s ‘Great Bucks Menu’ gala dinner.
The event aims to celebrate the skills of students from secondary schools across the county and the wide range of produce available from farmers, producers and suppliers in Buckinghamshire.
A gourmet four-course school meal will be cooked, prepared and served by students from Princes Risborough School on the night with Aylesbury duck, Bradenham cured ham hock terrine, butternut squash ravioli with sage butter and fillet of beef en croute just some of the options on the menu.
Students from Sir William Ramsay, St Joseph’s Primary Catholic and Beaconsfield High are also taking part in the event which takes place at Sir William Ramsay School in High Wycombe on Saturday April 5 starting at 6.30pm.
The students have been selected from after school chef clubs which teach pupils basic food hygiene and healthy eating as well as how to prepare and cook a variety of dishes to take home and share with their families.
Proceeds raised will be donated to Young Carers Bucks and towards the set-up of more targeted chef clubs in the county.
A suggested donation of up to £500 will secure a table for 10 people.
