Two town pub managers did their bit to help save the Masaai Mara Reserve on a recent trip to Keyna.
Evelin Rae, who manages The Thatch in Thame and her number two Serena Toh joined a 12-strong team on the conservation mission.
During the January trip, the pair visited the remote Enonkishu Conservancy and helped to plant 20,000 two inch trees.
As well as planting the forest in a week, they bought a cow to help promote sustainable farming.
Evelin said: “All in all I think it was one of those one-in-a-lifetime experiences and one that will stay with me forever.
“There were just 12 of us, in Landrovers, making our own way and sometimes getting lost, heading for the greatest adventure of our lives.
“Also, it was fantastic to hear from the Maasai people about the difference they are trying to make in their way of life.”
