A Vale pub with a Caribbean twist is serving more punters than ever after its makeover.

The Chandos Arms in Weston Turville completed its £50,000 facelift in January to include improved flooring, a new bar, paint job and children’s outdoor area.

The Main Street pub is now performing ahead of schedule and co-owner Chris Williams, 31, is delighted.

He said: “It’s been going really well, a lot better than anticipated. We’re actually already performing at year four predictions.”

Chris runs the pub with his wife Carmel, 30, who has brought her native Jamaican feel to the menu to now serve Caribbean chicken burgers and jerk strips.

The couple, whose three children go to school in Aylesbury, are hosting music events and Jamaican-themed nights at the pub in the coming weeks.
