A classical music student is hoping to boost her confidence as she represents Bucks at a national modelling competition.
Louisa Haggerty, 19, from Cholesbury, is studying in Manchester but will represent her home county at the Miss Galaxy England finals on March 9.
She said: “It’s nothing I’ve done before, I just wanted a new experience.
“I do quite a lot of opera singing and acting but this is daunting for me. I think it will be good for my confidence.”
Louisa sent in a number of photographs for the application process and thinks her natural approach led to her securing the title.
She said: “I’ve never been particularly plastic or have perfect make-up and I’m not one to lose lots of weight.
“I just like to be healthy and another reason for entering the competition is to prove to myself that I am happy with how I am. Inner beauty is important.”
Miss Galaxy England, who will be crowned at Park Hall Hotel in Lancashire, will then travel to the USA to compete in the Miss Galaxy International.
Louisa is raising money for The Christie Charity in the lead up to the finals.
