A new £71,000 play area with modern equipment was opened in Aylesbury yesterday.
The new facility at The Coppice includes a bridge, tower and high slide, as well as landscaping to make the site more attractive.
The project involved removing 15-year-old play equipment.
Children from Broughton Junior School were consulted on the design of the Meadow Way play area and were invited to enjoy the facilities at the official opening, which was carried out by Councillor Michael Rand, Aylesbury Vale District Council chairman.
The development has been funded by Section 106 cash, which comes from developer contributions in the area.
Councillor Howard Mordue, cabinet member for leisure, said: “The new play area is a terrific addition to local facilities in Aylesbury.
“It will cater for a range of ages and provide new and interesting experiences.
“I pass on my congratulations to everyone who took part in this project. It is a great result.”
