A country pub with a difference is hoping for a boost after a full refurbishment.
The Mole and Chicken in Easington, which is run by Suzanne and Steve Bush, has had new windows, a warm and welcoming new look and a new entrance which frees up the pub’s fireplace for sofa seating.
Suzanne, who lives in Long Crendon with Steve and their two children Lauren, eight and Lucy, five, said: “The whole refurbishment happened very quickly.
“It started on the Sunday and by Tuesday we were trading again. I love the warm colours and it’s fantastic that our guests will now be able to sit on the sofas in front of the fire.”
The mum, who used to work for TV chef Gary Rhodes, said: “My husband is the chef and has created a menu full of fresh ingredients which changes on a daily basis.
“We are so pleased with the new look and hope people will come and see for themselves. We are a lovely country pub, we are not snobby and this is like a home from home.”
The family run the pub on behalf of owners Jilly and Alan ‘Moley’ Heather who live near Cuddington.
The couple bought the pub in 1992 as an investment, and Steve and Suzanne have been running it for six-and-a-half years.
Jilly said: “Steve and Suzanne are doing a brilliant job and Steve has created a lovely seasonal menu for the pub.
“Redoing the interior has given the pub a new lease of life, we are all really excited about it.”
