A mile of coins meandered its way through Thame at the weekend as the local Lions club raised funds for charity.
The event, in its sixth year, encouraged passers-by to donate loose change to make a mile of coins along Greyhound Walk.
The day raised £520.16 which will be split between defibrillator charity Staying Alive Thame and summer holiday club charity Lighthouse Thame.
Co-fundraiser Jackie Willoughby said: “The government money isn’t there any more for things like defibrillators, so that’s why charities like the Lions are so important.
The club is looking to expand and is always on the lookout for new people to join. Jackie said: “There’s a real gap when it comes to members because young people aren’t interested. It’s such a shame, as the club could fold eventually.”
