Comic shop staff are donning Star Wars costumes and auctioning a rare piece of memorabilia to raise money for the Florence Nightingale Hospice.
The charity drive forms part of Dead Universe Comics’ weekend of events to mark Free Comic Book Day on Saturday, and Star Wars Day on Sunday.
Anyone visiting the Friars Square shop can meet a host of Storm Troopers, pick up special offers and freebies and enter the charity raffle and tombola.
The raffle’s star prize is a rare 1980s Millennium Falcon toy, released to mark the launch of the Return of the Jedi film.
Shop manager Pat ‘Patman’ Cline, who will dress up as a Sand Trooper over the weekend and hand out free high fives, said: “Every single year we get so excited, and that fact that both of these events fall on the same weekend is brilliant.
“We are going to work pretty much around the clock to get things ready today, but don’t worry, I will be resting my hand so that people can get their high fives.”
